The following pictures are from Atco Raceway in Atco, NJ. The date is March 19, 1994 and the Nova is yet to be painted. The 327 was installed a
year and a half ago but these are the first passes down the 1/4 mile with the new 3.90 posi rear. The conditions were only
fair. The temperature was cool but there was a strong cross wind. The carb was still setup to run with the 3.42 gears. All
passes this day were in the 13 second range with a best elapsed time of 13.7 @ 99.2 mph. The pictures are a little blurry
but I didn't take them because I was driving.
Near the 330' timers
13.86 @ 98.29
Staged in the right lane.
Near the 60' timers
13.85 @ 98.92 Consistent.
With a little tuning, a fiberglass cowl induction hood, fiberglass bumpers and some lightweight Weld
wheels I eventually run 13.5's @ 102.
